First Scientific Meetings at Ayasofya and Zeyrek began with the commands of Fatih Sultan Mehmet, the Ottoman Empire.

These places were the early educational places in Istanbul.

 February 25,1470
Teaching at "Fatih Külliyesi" , a special education complex, began. These courses were about Law, Litrature and Natural Sciences

 On April 20, 1912
Istanbul Darilfununu , the first higher educational school in Ottoman Empire, founded.
 August 1, 1933
University Reform Act by Kemal Ataturk, the Founder and President of Republic of Turkey.

 

Istanbul University, which was thus named on August 1, 1933 , was the first and only university in the country at that time. That is reason why it is the provender for all the universities existing in Turkey today, and the academics educated here have initiated the establishment of other institutions.

 Ataturk has close relationship with Istanbul University. He used to follow courses with students in his spare time.

Ataturk, an ardent reader, was also a patron of University Library, of which he helped the establishment and refurbishment.
There are some important milestones in our university"s history till the foundation of our Faculty.

1933, the foundation of School of Law. 1934, foundation of Institute of Economy and Social Sciences. 1936, School of Economics. In 1937 courses about management began to teach at School of Economics first time and Chair of Business Administration established.
The first book published on business administration by Dr Alfred ISAAC, a German professor who made great contributions to our university and business education in Turkey.
Foundation of the Institute of Business Administration as the first Modern Business Training Institute of Turkey. The Institute is the first Postgraduate Business School in Europe
During the establishment of Institute;

The Harvard Business School made contributions in Academic Field and Ford Foundation sponsored the establishment.
 1968
The foundation of our school at Beyazit Campus.

Our School is the First Business School in Turkey.

 

Our School moved to Rumeli Hisar Campus near Bosphorus.
Our school moved to Avcılar Campus near Kucukcekmece Lake.

The School has 23.000 square meters covered area with modern classrooms, a well stocked library and technological facilities.
